The 6th edition has better structure in quant and substantial improvements in Verbal. See my comparison vs. 5th edition below.If you are just starting out with GMAT prep - get this bundle; it's a good deal for the Manhattan GMAT Guides (separately they cost close to $150). These books don't emphasize tricks or easy ways to 700+ score, instead they methodically cover areas tested, and should be pretty much all you will need (besides the Official Guides - see below for links). If this is above your budget or you are in a rush, then would recommend you pick the best of the pack:- The GMAT Roadmap Great collection of wisdom (see my review of this book)- Number Properties Guide (condensed overview of Arithmetic and strategies for saving time/solving questions more effectively)- Word Propblems Guide (includes some of the hardest topics - probability, combinations, and statistics)- Sentence Correction (the best book out there on SC)- Critical Reasoning (only second to PowerScore CR but by a slim margin)- Reading Comprehension - a significantly revised book (there are no other dedicated RC books on market really)Between these 5 books you should have 80-90% of the GMAT covered and the rest could be picked up from the remaining books and practice with the Official Guides. You can throw in a Kaplan Premier as well - a good intro to GMAT book with 6 free GMAT Tets. It is a good starter book to get your feet wet, but definitely not a must.To make the most use out of the MGMAT guides, you will need the Official Guide 20015 and also OG Verbal 2nd and OG Quant 2nd editions are recommended. The guides refer to these 3 books for additional practice questions. If you own previous versions of the Official Guide books, you can use those too with a translation table available from MGMAT's website.*** Each book comes with access to 6 online gmat tests and additional question banks. Don't spend money on these as they are pricey ($40 for 6 tests on the MGMAT website).Also, if you are new to the GMAT, download 2 official practice tests from GMAC and take one of them before you start prepping to get your level - very helpful to track your progress along the way but don't waste these tests - they use real retired gmat questions and though it is possible to recycle them (there are close to 900 questions in the banks), would recommend you use something less valuable for your practice such as MGMAT tests included with these books).One more thing, don't rush into questions and tests - you will only hurt your self confidence, instead methodically cover each math and verbal topic and only after you are done with each of the sections move on to take the tests (take math only after you are done with math and verbal only after done with verbal). Final word of advice - the main mistake (esp in verbal) is not following strategies. Whichever books or strategies you use (they are all pretty similar between MGMAT, PowerScore, and Kaplan) - follow them EXACTLY. These people are getting big bucks to develop methods to improve score and maximize performance - don't try to be smarter and change things around. Unless you are scoring 750+, I would follow each step of the strategy to the "T". If the book says to read the CR question twice, then that's what you do even though it may seem that it is faster to read it once - trust me, there is a reason why you read it twice. If you want to get 700+ and not worry about the GMAT, stick to the strategies and keep creativity low.~~~ Comparison of the 5th edition vs 6th edition. ~~~I have gone through all of the books and here is how it looks:Overall, all books have undergone some degree of updating; not just slapping a new cover as some providers do, so you will be better of buying the 6th if you are deciding. If you own the 5th edition already, I would recommend getting only the IR and RC books, however as they have undergone the most transformation. The rest is organized better (more logical); it will help those who are short on time; the pages now also have more graphs, charts, and cheat sheets at the end (a number of books added this feature including Geometry and CR).IR - substantial changes and improvements - the book needed them, and is now split by question type and organized a lot betterQuant - mostly minor updates (less than 10% new content)RC - Major updateSC - Restructure with the main difference is that the idiom section is cut down and rewrite of most chapters (more than 20% of content updated)CR - Improvements in text-heavy areas that put people to sleep before. Cheat sheets added after each chapter. I do like pre-thinking, however, in CR, so I still feel that CR book can be improved.Hopefully this will get you started. I bought these books to prepare for the GMAT - I haven't taken a standardized test in years! My first practice test put me at a 650 so I know I had work to do. I poured over these books and studied four hours a night after work and every weekend for two months. The combination of these books, the GMAT Original Guide Bundle (buy those for practice problems), and hours of studying produced a 760 GMAT score!!! Highly recommend for time-saving tricks, comprehensive review materials and common-sense explanations.

Same set as from the Manhattan website but much better price. Very effective tool for studying for the GMAT. I did not purchase any other GMAT studying tools besides this set and the Official Guide set and they were sufficient for a 750+ score.

Great set of guides. I hate standardized tests but I decided to give self studying a try. My first practice test before I started studying I got a 490. I went through all of these books and the OG guide in 3-4 months. After that I was scoring around 580s on practice tests. I took my official test in October 2015 and got a 640. Buy these along with a solid study plan and it can be a great alternative to hiring an expensive tutor.

I have been stressing about getting ready for the GMAT but these books have really helped me chill out. They go through and tell you what to expect, how to prepare, and where to focus most of your time. Each separate book explains its topic really well. It also comes with practice tests and online resources. I really like that aspect of it because a majority of the material is from the high school level and it's a great refresher. If you are worried about spending the money just think: You have to pay $250 to take the test, so why would you go cheap on your study supplies?

When I was sad, I wrote. When I was feeling guilt and depressed, I wrote some more.While this book was written because of my traumatic miscarriage, it explores the different waves of grief that we all will experience. This book is for the mourning person, who needs to know that they are not alone in this season and that they can experience joy in the midst of suffering.

This book is soaked in wisdom and healing truths!!! Josefina puts her heart on paper as she bears her soul and opens up about the miscarriage of her precious baby. She captures the reader within the introduction and invites you alongside her as she walks through the stages of grief. I appreciate Josefina’s transparency about the deep hurt she experienced as well as her honesty about where she is in her journey presently. One of the sweetest things I truly loved about her book is that she additionally invites the reader to journal along through our own grief as she opens up about her own. It is captivating! It is healing! Most importantly, it is REAL and I have truly been blessed it!!! I recommend this to anyone and everyone as we have all experienced some form of loss and need the precious reminder this gem of a book offers in that we are not alone!

There is so much I can say about this beautiful work, from the honest poems to the elegant illustration it has all been positively impacting.Even though I have not experienced the kind of loss that is discussed in the book the author’s words and drawn images still spoke to my heart. I was somehow able to be inspired by the truth that she shares in the text as well as use the steps mentioned to work on areas of my heart that need healing.Although I think that the author inteded it to be a book to help mothers through their miscarriages, it truly helps with that and more.And I appreciate how the author doesn’t tell you what to do to feel better, instead her writing is as if she is walking alongside you, sharing in the pain & saying, “I understand”. Which is sometimes all you need.Its a great book! I hope millions of people get their hands on it- it truly is a gem.

I was then able to quickly identify a reputable place to buy my first batch of red wigglers. Once my worms arrived, the book helped me detect the signs of over-feeding; how to maintain a balanced moisture level; and, offered specific and comprehensive tips for regular maintenance to ensure a healthy wormery. The appendices are organized for quick reference, including a FAQ section and trouble-shooting chart. My wormery is thriving! The section “Worm Composting for Kids” inspired me to invite my granddaughter to share in the experience and to gain her first scientific and ecological insights. An added bonus is the author's generosity in providing ongoing electronic links and information to those who buy the book.I highly recommend this guide to those interested in a responsible and fascinating route to making a positive, environmental impact and achieving nutrient-rich compost to boot.Owen's guide is well organized and clear, with each chapter addressing a specific component of running a good womery, addressing fully fears and concerns beginners unavoidably face, maintenance tips that assure a continued healthy bin, and even suggestions for inviting children into the worm composting experience!I definitely recommend this book to anyone considering worm composting.

There are quite a few guides to worm composting but most of them repeat essentially the same information with slight variations in the way they suggest building your bin or which one to purchase among the commercial ones. What sets this book apart and makes it the best of those I have looked at is that it discusses each aspect of worm composting in the most practical way without much in the way of dogma. Instead the author discusses real life experience, much of it his own, explaining the reasons for various choices and leaving you with a good number of options in each area so that you can take advantage of bedding options that are inexpensively and readily available for you or food options that are likewise practical for each reader. I had it on hand when I began worm composting and it gave me all the information I needed to feel rightfully confident in being successful. Highly recommended.

Henry Owen does an excellent job of emphasizing the important aspects of vermicomposting, while keeping the dialog light and entertaining. Children and adults alike should have no trouble with following his straightforward and easily understood formula for successful home vermiculture.The book does not delve into large scale, commercial methods. This one is for the folks that want to do something that is good for the planet and easily accomplished at home without spending a lot of money or adding a lot of work to your busy schedule. Highly recommend for those with an interest, as it is a short read.

From project start, to successful and happy worm bin, took less time than reading the book did. That's because the book was clear and to the point, so the actual work was quick and easy. We are now the proud parents of 1,000 happy recyclers!

This book is great for starting. I have read it cover to cover at least six times and realize that I am finding more to learn each time. This book, and, access to a vermiculturist I met through the Texas A&M extension service, have made me feel very comfortable as I prepare for my first harvest. Compost production and compost tea production are better than expected.

Though a bit repetitious I found the book super informative and straight forward. Wish I had had it before I started my 3 worm bins because the info in this book would have prevented me from loosing a whole bin (2000) worms to a simple mistake. I recommend this as reading for any beginning vermiculturist.
