Rather than go into a detailed analysis, I’m going to explain what it is about this book, and this series, as written by Bella Forrest:The writer knows how to create authentic characters who express their emotions in a natural, contradictory manner that feels so real.There’s a point early in this book where she’s talking, trying to act tough, but then, she wipes a tear away. It just felt real, rather than forced or contrived.She does these things in a manner that is so true to life. By way of example, I, myself, pride myself on being a rational, thoughtful human being. Then, just when I least expect it, I will break out in an emotional outburst and say, bullcrap, or something similar. The contradiction of the ideal I strive for and the reality is striking. Then why do so few writers develop characters that act like this? Bella Forrest slips this thought into her stories with great skill.BLUSH FACTOR: No worries here. So much happened in this latest instalment with Alton has his secrets. Astrid is hiding something too, like father like daughter and poor Harley is trying to balance the darkness with enough light to tip the scales in her favour. Wade is always there for her and I just wish they would kiss and make up already. Seriously most of the book is about Astrid and Garrett, Harley and Wade trying to navigate their feelings for each other. The evil one, Katherine Shipton features more in this book but nothing epic eventuates. I was hoping for some big confrontation between her and Harley but maybe next time. I found this book was easier to read now that I have gotten used to the character changes which are only women by the way. Why are there no chapters from Wade or Garretts point of view.?
What is not to love about this series? I wish I could curl up with these characters and never leave. They each have such tremendous gifts and complexities that come out when you least expect it. It's really no surprise considering it's from Bella Forrest but you just can't help but be amazed with each new book. I definitely felt even more entwined with each struggle and triumph. You won't be able to put it down, that's for sure!!!
Such a good story extremely excited for what's next to come, BE PROPER FOR THE UNEXPECTED AND for many surprises FINALLY WADE AND HARLEY ⤠I can't wait for the next book
How does someone write this without spoilers! How silly to ask such a question. I'll say I don't think there wasn't anything I didn't like about this story.
I love that a little romance is thrown into the story lines but doesn't take over the excitement of the adventure we are all going on with these characters!
I read all the books in the series except for the last one which isn't out yet. I couldn't put them down. It just wets your appetite to read them all. Very good.
Her characters and stories always come to life. I feel like I live in the world that she has created, can't w as it for her next book
