Planet Dead is my attempt to solve a problem I had with the horror genre. I love horror movies, books, tv shows and comics but as a person of color, I noticed there are very few horror-related titles that surround people from different backgrounds.Most horror movies have a white female lead, who at times starts off weak and comes out strong. Which there is nothing wrong with that, but I wanted a strong female that wasn't made strong by the horrors she saw, but by the life, she lived. I wanted a person of color so I could show the world people of color are just as strong as any other group. They can be heroes and villains, they can be complex in many ways.The horror genre leads you to believe that people of color can only die first or be the comic relief. Planet Dead is here to break down that old thought process and give people of color heroes they can relate to, all while giving the world and zombie fans a bad ass story.So pick it up and see a new face in horror.~Sylvester Barzey

They're funny and flawed and oh so human...as they battle the undead. Humor, scares, and suspense all rolled into one great zombie fest.
Book: Planet Dead One Shot: The Briggs BoysAuthor: Sylvester BarzeyOh this is such a great read! The Briggs boys are really a bunch of fun. Getting to know them in this book is great. The whole family dynamic is great in this book and who kills....Not going to tell you. Mama Briggs is such a fun character! I love it when she explains things especially when making stew. Well I hope you enjoy this zombie book. Oh yes Catherine is an epic character! Caution Clowns lol!
I love I was able to learn what they went through.How they got to where they are and so much more but I don't want to give any thing away so If you haven't read any of the Planet Dead series you are missing out it has a little bit of everything.
I enjoyed reading about the brother's story. The switching in time caught me off guard and confused me at first, but when I realized what was found on I caught up fast. I enjoyed this story line and look forward to the next installment.
Started off a little slow but as the plot developed I found myself more involved in the story and it got pretty good. Will now move on to the next book
Good story about a family during the start of the zompoc. The boys are quirky,but very human and believable. Short story worth a read.
I loved this book. This is a first time read of the author and I will definitely be reading more of this series.
I love the diversity in Mr. Harvey's books. I really enjoyed this book and am delighted to get more since it is a series!
